About this listen
Savannah Dupree is a freshman studying at Boston University on a full scholarship. But Savannah possesses something even more remarkable than a quick mind and an insatiable curiosity for learning. With a simple touch, she can see an object's past - a skill that puts her life in danger when her studies bring her into contact with a centuries-old English sword and the terrible secret hidden within the blade's history. In all his 300 years of living as one of the Breed, vampire warrior Gideon never dreamed he'd ever again see the blade that ended his young brothers' lives ages ago in London. There's one certain way to prove Gideon's suspicion, but it will mean using Savannah to help uncover the truth. With danger closing in from all sides, the passion that ignites between Gideon and Savannah will tempt them to risk their hearts and lives for a love that might just last an eternity.
Contains mature themes.

The story is not a typical Vampire romance and though it can be read standalone. I think to really enjoy this series that I would recommend reading all the following books in order as there is a continuing arc that does not completely conclude until the very last book in the series.
Gideon is part of a secretive order of gorgeous Vampire Warriors trying to protect humanity. Along the way he finds the only woman he can love whilst battling evil. There are some seriously hot sex scenes but this is secondary to the main story revolving around an ancient evil from his past.
If I had one complaint it would be that I would have liked dual narrators, one of which should have been a man with a British accent. I feel that would have made the story even better but only having a female narrator did not detract from the excellent story.
Will certainly be purchasing more narration for Lara Adrians books.
Vampires are real, and seriously hot!
