I was ready for a romance, but wow, this one is hot! Liberty and Mason are married. He a doctor, she an OCD wife, with a lot going on in her head. She has had a horrible childhood and as a result has an extreme need for structure. When Sean, Mason's old boyfriend, pops into her life, chaos takes flight. Mason is torn because of his feelings for Sean. Sean is attracted to Libby, and Libby is finally finding the freedom to let go. Will this trio find a balance? Talk about complex! We have Libby, who is like an onion. Layers upon layers and she never ceases to surprise me. Mason is a man who loves with his whole heart and always puts Libby first. Conflicts with his strong feelings for Sean. And Sean is a mess, but finds his balance with these two. It's steamy, it's passionate, it's relevant and has so many feelings, I was mesmerized. If you love complicated love, this one is for you!

Lance West brings it all to life with a very good narration. He has a soft voice, but brings out the alpha in both Mason and Sean with ease. He creates Libby with all of her compulsions, making her realistic and believable. It was a great performance.

I don’t know why but it took me a few chapters to get fully invested in this book. Having said that, once I reached that turning point around chapter 5 I was fully hooked and wanted to keep listening without any breaks. The storyline was really intriguing, spicy, and fun to listen to for the rest of the book. The narration by Lance West was great, and once again Lydia Michaels delivers characters with heavy backstories but that compliment each other so well!

READ/LISTEN TO THIS! I can not reccomend this book enough!

Lydia Michaels books are still quite new to me but the few books I have read I have loved and I am slowly but surely making my way through her backlist.

I loved Libby and Sean, Mason. I loved everything about this relationship between these three. This story was STEAMY! SO. FREAKING STEAMY but as hot as it was it also had depth and touched down on some pretty serious issues like mental health.

This author is becoming a fast favorite of mine. She has a way of telling a story that keeps you hanging on every words.

Breaking Perfect is the dominant/submissive, poly-amorous standalone romance story of husband-and-wife Mason and Liberty (Libby) and ex-lover Sean. Three people, each a little broken, coming together to create a perfect relationship and it is one beautiful, magical, sexy, wild ride!
Mason and Libby have been married for five years, they live in a perfect house and on the outside seemingly have the perfect life. However, Libby suffered a horrific past and deals with it the only way she knows hoe by obsessing, consistency, order, and pain. Libby is strong, she is a survivor waiting to be set free from her past trauma. Mason has learned to provide the perfect order to keep Libby’s OCD mostly under control over the years. He is the glue that holds her together but has a past that no matter how hard he tries to forget still desires. So, imagine his surprise when his past shows up on his doorstep and becomes part of his present.
Sean wasn’t sure knocking on Mason’s door was a good idea but after driving 14 hours he knows he has to take the opportunity to see the man he loved again, what he didn’t bank on was the attraction, protectiveness and list he’d feel toward the woman who managed to steal the heart of the man he’s pined for all these years. Sean observes that Libby is naturally submissive in everything she does so when he’s given the green light to join the couple he taps into her submissive side. Sean is sexually dominant as is Mason, two alpha males who only relinquish control when they are intimate with each other. Sean recognises Libby needs an alternative to her need for pain so introduces sexual masochism which worked for her and was so thought provoking.
Lance West narrates this solo and does an amazing job getting across each person’s fears, desires, needs and wants. The only critique I have is the narration was so slow that for the first time since I started listening to audiobooks, I actually had to speed it up.
I loved this audiobook! I honestly think this is my favourite Lydia Michaels book to date. It was hot, sexy, forbidden, had a little light BDSM in there, as well as some of the hottest, sexiest dirty talk that will have your temperature rising and your panties going up in flames plus some super sweet tender moments and thought-provoking learning opportunities. If this book doesn’t cause your panties to spontaneously combust and leave you needing a few cold showers, then I hate to break it to you, but your libido is broken because this book is hella sexy!

3.5 ⭐️ This is a sizzling psychological erotica novel. Liberty (Libby), Mason and Sean are complex characters. Their relationship is emotional, intricate, and passionate. Lance West did a good job with the narration. This story is different than the others stories I have read from this author. I'm having mixed feelings about it. However, If you like complex erotica romance, you should like this one.
