About this listen

Monica

I love the dead—a passion for them if you will. There’s nothing like cutting, collecting, and storing parts of them in jars.

Can you keep a secret for me?

What I’m doing is immoral, but I’ve found someone special to love. If anyone were to find out… You know what? Let’s hope that never happens, because

It’s Illegal!

Jax

I’m a King. If the elegant font scrolled across my breast pocket is any indication of the name I bear, then my arrogance is sure to do the rest.

Want more?

I’ve held hatred in my heart for a long time, and I’m striking while the iron is hot. Vengeance, power plays, and manipulation are what I’m here for. We can even add murder to the table. Nothing is off-limits. Not even my girl’s toy, and...

He’s DEAD.

Living Dead Girl is a truly unique and captivating book that pushed the boundaries of conventional storytelling. The dynamic between Monica, the quirky mortician, and Jax, the unrestrained and intelligent protagonist, creates a compelling narrative filled with dark humour and unconventional romance. It's intriguing how their crazy complements each other in a way that is both entertaining and thought-provoking. The blend of suspense, humour, and emotional depth adds layers to the story, making it more than just a darkly humorous tale. It's a testament to the author's skill that she could weave such an engaging narrative that leaves a lasting impression on us readers. It's always exciting to find a book that leaves you laughing, questioning, and eagerly turning the pages, all while delivering unexpected twists and emotional revelations and Living Dead Girl did all of this and so much more.
Raven Wildewood's portrayal of Monica is a masterclass in duality, effortlessly blending the character's initial innocence with the darker, more monstrous aspects lurking beneath the surface. Her performance is filled with subtle nuances that convey a complex character who defies societal expectations, capturing the essence of a soul in turmoil with remarkable precision. Meanwhile, Sean Masters' depiction of Jax is a revelation, bringing to life a character driven by rage and an obsession with violence. His performance is nothing short of mesmerizing, with every line delivered and every pause pregnant with meaning, leaving an indelible impression that is both haunting and compelling. Together, Wildewood and Masters create a dynamic presence that is both captivating and unforgettable.

Truly unique and captivating!

Audiobook: this has been performed by Raven Wildewood and Sean Masters. As usual Sean has knocked it out of the park! This is my first book with Raven's voice and I loved it, I think she fit perfectly the charters and their personalities. Blue Nose team has done an amazing job once more creating a great experience for the audio fans.

Oh, the horror! Ayden Perry resurrects Splatter-punk, bringing together some unique characters for a romance like no other and takes you along for their wild ride. Monica W. Adams has always been an outcast, not making any friends in high school, and she is still a loner. With her parents gone, she now running the family mortuary, with the help of employee Brandon Smith. Monica finds comfort with the dead, so much so finds fascination with one particular corpse, a John Doe, aka Johnny, and she finds her own pleasure with him, which she can. Jax S. King can hold a grudge and it is time for some payback, starting with his twin brother, Jeremy. And if you thought Monica was a bit off and deranged, Jax takes the cake. It is best to go into this book knowing as little as possible, just enjoy the ride and expect to have your mind blown. Some content is raunchy and cringeworthy, taking some out of their comfort zone or you just may roll your eyes and laugh at the insanity of it all, it definitely best to check the content and trigger warnings. What would not be acceptable is attempting to recreate any scenario in this book, which the author mentions since it would be illegal, well, most of it. Yeah, I am laughing, thinking of some scenes, and yes, it is an impressionable story, one that will stay with you for a very long time. Perry created a mighty fine web and did an amazing job laying down all the pieces and tying it all together, characters included. The writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. Ayden Perry, thanks for the terrific story and wild ride.

🎧📚🎧   Raven Wildewood and Sean Masters deliver an amazing performance voicing these characters, humanizing them with their personality for a perfect portrayal of each. Wildewood nailed it as Monica, showcasing her quirky eccentricities, and Masters kills it as Jax, bringing out all his psycho tendencies. Both were just as amazing performing the roles of the secondary/side characters, too. The story benefited from their perfectly paced and well-toned delivery, including the chiller-thriller vibes and moments. These two are versatile voice artists and their captivating performance entertains you and keeps you riveted to the story.

Living Dead Girl is the first 'splatterpunk romance' I've read and it didn't disappoint! The gory scenes and taboo subjects were sprinkled with dark humour that made this such an enjoyable read! Despite what the FMC gets up to in her spare time, I found myself completely enamoured with her, and Raven Wildewood did an excellent job at portraying the character! Sean Masters never fails to disappoint with his gorgeous voice and totally brings the MMC to life (excuse the pun, IYKYK!). The narration was faultless - a fantastic production by the Blue Nose team!

There's a lot of content warnings for this book, so PLEASE make sure you check them out before delving in
