◆戦略だけでは不十分
世の中には戦略について書かれた本は多い。しかしそれを読んだだけでは戦略を立て、それを実践するにはまだまだ不十分と言える。
それはなぜか。つまり囲碁や将棋の初心者が、定石・定跡から学びだけではプロになれるわけではなく、戦いを勝ち抜くことはできないのと同じ理由である。
ではどうすればいいのか。それが本書のテーマである、「戦略『脳』を鍛える」ことである。

◆「プラスアルファの能力」を身につける
著者は言う。「戦略論という定石を当然知ったうえで、新たな戦い方をつくり上げる『プラスアルファの能力』を身につけた者だけが、自らを差別化し、競合優位に立つことができる」と。
この「プラスアルファの能力」を著者は「インサイト」と呼んでいる。
「プラスアルファの能力」をつけるには「体験」がものを言う。つまり古典芸能の世界で師匠や先輩の「芸」をまねて体験することで力がつくように、戦略「脳」を鍛えるには自ら体験を重ねることが必要なのである。そのために本書は、読むことで「インサイトにつながる頭の使い方」が疑似体験できるよう構成されている。

◆スピードとものの見方
第1章では、戦略が実践で使え、成果を出す「インサイト」は、スピードとレンズ（ものの見方）が重要な構成であることを詳述。第2章では思考のスピードの上げ方、第3章では発想力を上げる3種類のレンズについて具体例を挙げながら解説している。第4章ではインサイトを生み出す「頭の使い方」をステップごとに解説し、第5章では、チームで最大限の成果を上げるための方法を分かりやすく説明している。
