This book will make you smarter.

Each 'lesson' makes you think. His purpose isn't to convince you or to enlighten you to his point of view. But to make you consider your point of view and to weigh it's validity.

Thought provoking but quite repetitive

As ever, Harari makes bold and thought-provoking statements with great confidence and clarity. But I didn't feel there were any great new insights here beyond those that his first two fabulous books offered. I think he needs to retreat for a while and come back with another big idea. I'm sure he will.

Should be required reading at every high school.

And office of power for that matter. I will strongly advise that this hugely important book is read by children, along with JB Peterson's '12 Rules..'

21 Lessons

Great book following in from his previous works and gives you a lot to think about by discussing the impact that technology and biotech could have on our futures and how we need to understand ourselves in order to survive in the rapidly changing world we live him. He gives a wonderful account of how our lives are influenced by stories and how the reinforcement of these stories into belief systems have been at the heart of human evolution for better or worse. Understanding of these different stories and how they have impacted our behaviours is critical to understanding how we want to behave in the future. A lot to think about. Clearly explained and full of examples through history. A definite one to listen to again and again as there is so much wisdom in his work.

Fascinating

The themes of his previous books return in this one, but aspects of personal history make the analysis even more interesting and compelling. The different essays could well be chapters, and the narrative is linear. The discussion of topics is as terse as ever, and powerful irony is at play too.

Stimulating ideas

Insight into the problems facing us in the coming years. A few more solutions and a bit more optimism would have been nice, though.
