Not a classic

This book was very entertaining and brilliantly read by Stephen Fry but it wasn’t what I was hoping for . The book is excellent compared to the new.

Added an extra sparkle to Christmas.

My children loved listening to this in the car. They now think they know who the real father Christmas is

Simply joyous.

I’m nearly as old as Father Christmas and I was transported to a magical world with this lovely story. It wasn’t saccharine sweet as you might think about a Christmas story - it had all the mischief and naughty things children snigger at - it had hardship and loss of a good fairy tale and most of all it has warmth and love; something we all need all the time but more so these days.

My usual go-to audio book is gritty crime novels but at a time of low-mood, I looked for something totally opposite. This was title was part of my ‘included’ membership. I had seen tv clips of it being available on Sky Cinema and wondered to watch the film rather than listen to the book.

I’m so glad I opted for the audio book. Stephen Fy’s narration is beyond superb. He’s an excellent storyteller with great voices for all the elves; together with the author’s way with words, it transports you to a magical place - what we your age.

Simply joyous!

Loved every minute

I was unsure after the first 20 minutes whether this was a book for children or adults, but I also didn’t care. It was magical and wonderful and I am sure I will remember it forever. I feel like when I think of Christmas now and Father Christmas, this will always be his story, where he came from.

Sweet Christmas Story

Nice festive story. Didn't always find it the most exciting, not up there with Roald Dahl's imagination, but who is! It's probably more exciting if you are a child.

Fry's voice is lovely, as always.
