About this listen

A NEW START. A DREAM BUSINESS. AND A GUEST TO DIE FOR...

Daniel Kent has to get away. He's lost his job, his fiancée, his self-respect. The accident’s the final straw; Dan needs to make a new life in the sun.

As soon as he sees the house, complete with gîte, in the picture-postcard region of the Dordogne, France, he knows this is his opportunity; not only to run his own dream business but also to escape the past.

But shortly after arriving in the beautiful bastide town of Monpazier, strange things begin to happen. Who is following him everywhere he goes? What are the intentions of the stranger who approaches him in the bar? Why do his neighbours hold a grudge that they can’t let go?And then there’s the strikingly good-looking Rachel, who suddenly books a two-week holiday in Dan’s gîte. But what does she want, and how long will she stay to get it...?

A Guest to Die For is a psychological thriller that will leave you questioning everybody’s motive.

This is a superb listen, the author obviously loves the part of France he is writing about as his passion shines through the text. Great characters who are well developed and believable take us on a thrilling ride of murder and deceit with a little romance thrown in. Aubrey Parsons narration is excellent with the drama and passion evident in his voice. A highly recommended listen. I look forward to the next instalment in Dan's life..

A very good newcomer author. I loved his "You're Family Now" trilogy and this was is my most recent book by Jack Stainton.
I listened on Audible and the Narrator was excellent.
This book is another great story and kept me engaged all the way through. A very well thought out book.

Daniel goes to start a new life in France, he has bought a lovely home with a gite on site. It's idyllic and Daniel can make money from his gite by renting to holidaymakers.

This story is full of twists and turns and surprises all the way through. There is no boring rambling in the book and for any lover of mysteries, psychological thrillers you will love this.
The book is very realistic and totally believable.

I'm not a fan of some of the hot favourite writers of psychological/mystery thrillers which can be read in a few hours - I like books which draw me in and are realistic and could happen to anyone.

Another Great Listen by Jack Stainton
