About this listen
I’m Jake Masterson, single dad, and the general manager of Seattle’s NHL team. I walked away from a career as a player so I could raise my daughter. For the last 20-plus years, Queenie has been my main priority, but now she’s getting married.
And there’s a small complication.
A beautiful, sexy complication named Hanna.
She’s my son-in-law’s older sister. Or at least that’s how they were raised. The truth is a little more scandalous than that.
I’ve been drawn to her from the moment I laid eyes on her. And I spent months trying to keep a lid on that attraction.
Until we finally give in.
It starts with one searing kiss but quickly ends with us between the sheets - and in the shower, and the hot tub, you get the picture - and turns into months of sneaking around.
Here’s the problem: We live on opposite ends of the country. It can’t be anything but casual. And as I’ve already said...it’s complicated.
But when Hanna finds out she’s pregnant...suddenly things get real serious.

A hard fought for love and baby. Great narration!
This was an emotional journey for Hannah who has lived a lie since she was a teenager. She spends more time with Jake while they plan Jake’s daughter Queenie’s wedding to her “brother” Ryan. What starts as an explosive kiss quickly turns into more, but they cannot get serious because she lives on the other side of the country. BUT wait, ugh oh, she finds out she’s pregnant and it’s her last shot at being a mum and she’s gonna take it! Go Hannah! This just got real!
Helena did a great job of tackling sensitive topics. There was care and attention given to many of the roadblocks this couple faced. This one was a little less comedy and a lot more feels for me and I was OK with that. Jake and Hannah’s story wouldn’t have been right if it was slapstick humour. There are still funny moments, but I really enjoyed this heartfelt journey that ultimately brings this family closer together.
I haven’t listened to many of Stella’s titles but that hasn’t been intentional. I think she did a great job of showing us just how tortured Hannah was and how independent she was determined to be. As always Jacob gives us all the sides of Jake. From the exasperated dad to the passionate lover and the worried partner. It is no hardship to listen to Jacob and he will pull on your heart in this one.
Another fantastic book from Helena with top notch narration from Stella and Jacob.

Audio Hockey Heaven
I can read/listen to Helena Hunting’s hockey romances all day. I love them, and the final book in the All In series is up there with the best of them. This is a little bit different to the previous books as our main character is not a hockey player, but is the General Manager of the team, and he’s in his 40s (suits me fine), our leading lady too is in her 40s (46 to be precise). Add in the fact that they’re the parents of Queenie and King (who have just been married), and we have a little bit of friction amongst the families, especially when Hannah discovers she’s pregnant. A little angsty (Hannah’s mum wound me up so much), and a lot sexy and sweet. Of course there’s the added bonus of all the previous hockey couples (Violet and Alex come to mind first), and add in narration from Jacob Morgan and Stella Bloom and I was in audio heaven.
