Charlie (pops) is attracted to men who are bad for her, she bangs her boss in a closet. Her friends and family are all varying shades of odd. This would be a great plot for a romantic comedy but this book seems to lack any humour whatsoever. Due to an accident she starts an online love letter writing agency and 'chaos' ensues from there.
Painful story

I enjoyed this book so much, i kept on going whenever I got the chance of a little alonr time. I smiled and laughed while listening to it, and I got a bit emotional at times and there where other times I just went on speaking to the character saying something like " OH MY GOD !!! "
I had a bit of a problem at the beginning when you really try to focus and understand where is this book going and what it is about but I quickly got over that and was inmerse into the storyline.
I liked the main character, she was funny and impulsive and she had a spirited mind.... I guess the writer is an excellent one! I recommend this book for an enjoyable time.

What made the experience of listening to A Passionate Love Affair with a Total Stranger the most enjoyable?
Well constructed story around very believable characters. The narrator and story were excellently matched.Who was your favorite character and why?
Charley Lambert - the main character was my favourite personality in the story - she is portrayed as a very strong minded business woman who can be very clumsy and very funny. Written in the first person - the narrator certainly became this character and that of others personalities within the story.Which scene did you most enjoy?
I enjoyed the entire book - all scenes were totally captivating. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Definitely a book that can be enjoyed in one sitting - life permitting of course!Any additional comments?
Will certainly be listening to more from this author and narrator - an excellent combination.Extremely Enjoyable.

And although I appreciate that the main character is currently living in Edinburgh - it's evident that the author - a southerner - doesn't actually understand the Scottish speech patterns. This means that the narrator - who is also fine - has an almost impossible job to do. She reads the book in a strong Scottish (East coast) accent throughout. However the author didn't write the book so that this would work.
Not a happy match of book/author/narrator - I found it intensely irritating. So much so I gave up and frankly wish I could return the darn book.. If you wouldn't know a Scottish accent or speech pattern from a London one - it probably won't bother you -- but if you're Scottish I REALLY wouldn't bother with this one.
Book is fine - narration is VERY annoying
