About this listen
With King Richard's return from captivity and Prince John's exile, a weary peace settles on England after years of civil war. But across the border in Wales, the vicious struggle to decide who shall rule Gwynedd still rages.
To tip the balance, the rebel Prince, Llywelyn, calls in an old debt from the Earl of Chester. The Prince saved the Earl's life and helped him take back his city. Now, he wants Sir Roland Inness and the Invalid Company to help him take back his country.

I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys mediaeval adventure stories. Lots of swash and buckle with a bit of history and romance thrown in too.
Wayne Grant is up there with the best authors in this genre.
I enjoyed the narration by James Young and although I understand some listeners were disgruntled by his interpretation it didn’t bother me, the story was so good and all in all I think James has done a good job. His accents remained true to each character throughout and I found myself fully immersed in the story at all times.
Can’t wait for the next book!
Excellent!
