Summary

From the dark comic book universe of Sky Kill Assassins, comes book one, the erotic sci-fi crime thriller, A Wicked Haven.

Years after the fall of the most powerful crime families, the citizens of Corbindale Bay worked valiantly to clean up the town's immoral and corrupt reputation. Change was on the horizon, until a secluded harbor island off the bay, is purchased and transformed into an entertainment destination called, “A Wicked Haven”.

Two years later, the renowned police detective Ryan Swett is transferred to investigate two high-profile cases: A disemboweling serial killer and a backlog of missing person cases tied to the wicked island’s famous burlesque nightclub.

This book is intended for mature audiences.

Wicked Haven:where life is a little more colourful

Ryan Sweat has arrived in Corbindale Bay where, despite the best clean up attempts of the Commissioner and the Disciples of Zion, there have been 258 disappearances, including Ryan's own predecessor who had been investigating the possible resurgence of illegal prostitution, and a serial killer named The Numerical Slasher was running loose. Assisting him in his attempts to get to the bottom of the sexual possibilities of Wicked Haven, the nightclub resort where the detective vanished, was his old friend, ex-cop and now reporter, Brice Dallas. What they discover blows their minds (amongst other things) and is an outrageously action packed and adult themed crazy story, complete with Ryan's poems of a sexual nature, and a background track of full appropriate sound effects, from ringing phones to manic screaming, loud but not so noisy that it overwhelms the voices.

This really is a Technicolor for the ears, comic strip action which fully translated to audio. Narration is by Arthur Stone, very ably assisted by several other voice actors taking specific character parts. The whole is very effective, not quite a play, but the different textured voices added to the colour of this book.

This is a definite must read for all who enjoy the comic genre, and is original, exciting and fun, always remembering the adult content which is fairly explicit at times. My thanks to the rights holder of A Wicked Haven, whk, at my requezt, freely gifted me with a complimentary copy via Audiobook Boom
