The filler around the core story was a bit slow for me and almost made me give up, but once the actual shooting came up, I was glad I hung in there. The description was so chilling, and I liked the intensity of the narration.
In the less dramatic parts of the book I was somewhat bothered by the reading, because it was trying to sound like a teenager, but at the same time pronouncing very clearly and with dramatic pauses that clashed with how a teen would talk.
The aftermath of the shooting brought up interesting perspectives of how people close to the shooter might feel, even if it’s harder for me to look at things from that side. Overall, I am glad I listened to this book.
