About this listen
Two years after riding off into the sunset with ranch owner Rand Holloway, Stefan Joss has made a tentative peace with his new life, teaching at a community college. But the course of true love never does run smooth. Rand wants him home on the ranch; Stef wants an exit strategy in case Rand ever decides to throw him out. Finally, after recognizing how unfair he's being, Stef makes a commitment, and Rand is over the moon.
When Stef gets the chance to prove his devotion, he doesn't hesitate - despite the risk to his health - and Rand takes the opportunity to show everyone that sometimes life's best surprises come after the sunset.

After the Sunset is my favourite of the three stories in the series, although Stefan and Rand are apart for quite a large portion of it. I’m glad Mary managed to squeeze in some sex scenes to make a sizzling start to the story. They are a well-established couple now and Rand is over the moon that Stefan has accepted a local teaching position as this implies he will be staying around for good rather than running back to the city.
The main premise of the story is a little unbelievable i.e. the rodeo required the attendance of the Red Diamond and participation in all events otherwise a certain piece of Rand’s property would be forfeit. I don’t know about these things, but if you can accept this premise, then the rest of the story falls into place. Like in Timing, Stefan is the perfect man and charms almost everyone he meets at the rodeo. He’s the hero here, and even settles a family matter for Rand. I was surprised that Stefan and Rand didn’t talk on the phone during the days they were apart, but that all helped to keep Rand in the dark about what Stef was doing. I particularly enjoyed when Rand appeared to look after his man and that he demonstrated his love for Stefan in front of the other cowboys and those trying to fix him up with their sisters.
Sean’s narration only added to my enjoyment of this story. He portrays each character with a unique and very recognisable voice and again Rand’s voice is the super-hot winner here. He is possessive and protective of Stef, yet loving and caring with him.
Very enjoyable story and superb narration
