Ane er på ferie hos sin tante og onkel. De bor langt ude på landet, og der er virkelig mange spændende ting, som man kan undersøge. Derfor går Ane alene på opdagelse, men før hun ved af det, er hun faldet i et hul og har slået sig så meget, at hun må en tur på skadestuen. Ane-bøgerne fortæller om Ane og alle hendes oplevelser både i skolen og derhjemme sammen med venner og familie. Per Gammelgaard (f. 1948) blev uddannet bibliotekar i 1973 og har siden da skrevet en række digtsamlinger. I 1981 debuterede han som romanforfatter med "Er du hjemme, Johanne?"
