About this listen

When Rick Hughes receives a reliquary pendant as a gift from an old friend, he has no idea what's coming next.

Drawn to an old excavation site, Rick stumbles upon a portal that takes him back to the eighth century, and in the middle of a Viking invasion.

After discovering a shocking link to the present, Rick is determined to intervene and save the inhabitants of the village from devastation - and to find a scientific explanation for what is happening.

With the perils of eighth century England surrounding him, can Rick save his new friends and live to tell the tale?

What a lovely story. It’s very descriptive and imaginative, without blinding the listener by science. And, how refreshing not to be bombarded by tirades of expletives, as seems to be the fashion these days with many writers!
John Broughton’s captivating written word is brought to life by Andy Stevenson’s engaging narration. I was left wanting to hear more at the end of each chapter. So much so, I finished it in two days!

I have found the story very interesting, and it kept me always wondering what was going to happen next. What was round the corner so to speak. Andy Stevenson's narrating encouraged that too, with good character voices. A very interesting and informative adventure story, and could it be the author's true event?

Captivating
