Mixed feelings

I love the story of Anne of the island but felt this version slightly spoilt by the narrator. Each sentence was read with inappropriate pauses and halts which did not add any effect. Also his take on the characters voices was very annoying and false, sounding like something out of a pantomime. It would have been better if he had just kept his tone through out.

Third Book in Series

Would you try another book written by Lucy Maud Montgomery or narrated by Alan Munro?

I would never choose any book read by Alan Munro, he is AWFUL and this book would have to be heavily discounted or free to put up with his awful monologue and precarious inflection, dreadful pausing where no pause should be and boring intonation!! Alan Munro has ruined this nice little book!!

What didn’t you like about Alan Munro’s performance?

Dreadful

Worst narrator ever

I wanted to listen to this as its the third part but really struggled with the narration as the reader was so stilted and poor. Valiantly made it to the end and enjoyed the story.

I cannot understand why someone so poor at reading narrated a book. I wanted to give no stars for performance.

Terrible narrator

All off the books about Anne Shirley are wonderful, but this narration is killing all the pleasure. It is absolutely impossible to follow the text as Alan Munro makes pauses in random places and reads everything with no emotions whatsoever.
