So what happens? Well, in a fantastic land far, far away 2 Masters of a Mystical Power, Brothers in arms, both love the same woman, and in their bid to bring down a person of great evil power, one betrays the other, turns evil forcing the other Master into exile on a distant swampy jungle land.
Fast forward, the evil Master now has a new Apprentice and the frozen Northern city is controlled by an Orwellian government who erase language thereby stopping the down trodden masses from even thinking about ideas such as freedom. Our young heroine is a Rebel who wants to change things for the better. She is thwarted by the sinister Black Coats, (crack troops who are dreadful shots with their muskets).
Our heroine, aided by a smuggler, ends up in the swampy jungle land, meets the exiled Master, learns to Master her powers to become an Ascendant (super warriors who can turn silk into steel and vice-versa).
Cue the various returns home, and the showdown between the Rebels and the Rulers, good and evil Masters.
There's also family feuds, politics, romance, God's, fighting, and a nod towards darker stuff, a rape, torture and murder. There's a lot in here to keep you engaged and narrator Kyle Snyder does a fantastic job bringing the varied characters to life. Well done. Great fun. 👍
