About this listen
“Did I just see a hot chick running down the road with a live chicken under her arm?”
Ash
Commitment is not my thing nor do I want it to be.
After the things I’ve been through with women, I have sworn off relationships.
There’s only ever been one woman that I thought I felt pulled to and I blew it. Not only was it the best date of my life, it was also the worst night of my life.
Since then, I have become a nail and bail kind of guy.
But then Sunday Sutton bursts back into my life, and ends up living with her son and their pet chicken across the hall from me.
There is no avoiding her or her radiant presence–everyone at the shop loves her, my sister loves her. Every time I open my mouth, I make it worse. But when I need a date to a wedding, Sunday is the only one that I can think I would want to be there with me.
In fact, she’s the only one I want to be with anywhere.
Sunday
Ash Johnson is unbelievable. He’s arrogant, conceited, self-absorbed and he’s everything I do not want in my life.
We had one night, years ago, and ever since he has been awful towards me. Well, I am sick of him and his nonsense. It doesn’t matter anyways, my son and I have a few more months until we are back home in Alabama.
But when I find myself living across the hall from him, I can’t help but be caught up in his charm.
Ash could be easy to love, if only he would let people in to see the real him, and not this shallow version of himself he projects.

Love this Series! Excellent Story, Characters & Narration🎧
D.J. Krimmer’s “Hel’s Ink” is one of my favorite series, a series with fantastic characters and storylines, and I always look forward to spending time with those characters and in the amazing world she created. Hel’s Ink is a tattoo shop, and each book features an artist in the shop and their love interest, and this is Ash and Sunday’s story, and wow, what a story it is, one that will captivate your attention the entire time and tug at your heartstrings, too. Ash intrigued me in the first two books, and I wanted to know more about him, but I was not expecting all that was Ash, the complexity of his character and his backstory, something he does not share with many. Sunday is a single mom of an awesome son, Wade, and is a struggling to make ends and making matters even more difficult is a thorn in her side ex, but she does not allow her struggles to break her spirit. Ash felt a connection with Sunday the moment he met her, but he blew it then, but he gets a second chance with her, but was about to blow that because his insecurities and inner demons get the best of him. Sunday is a riot and the banter between those two is hilarious and will definitely put a smile on your face. It was great to watch these two navigate a not relationship, and Ash was amazing with her son, Wade. I loved all the layers of this story and how it all played out, with plenty of drama, angst, witty dialogue and humor to lighten things up, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. It was great to see the characters from the earlier books again and Alice Cooper, who rocks! D.J. Krimmer, thank you for another amazing story, the laughs and the emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Stella Bloom and Grayson Owens were the perfect cast to bring these characters to life, and they did a wonderful job portraying them, giving each a voice that was fitting and I loved how they took each role and made it their own, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters to sound. Bloom was a natural in Sunday’s role, grasping all aspects of her personality and handled her snark and witty dialogue effortlessly, never missing a beat. Owens was just as fabulous as Ash, showcasing his personality and demeanor perfectly, too. Both were equally amazing performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their performance elevates this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another fantastic listen.

So good!!
This series is so good, I cannot recommend it enough. Each story has interesting characters and ones that are easily relatable. Ash and Sunday had a one night stand and Ash's was embarrassed by his performance. Now ignoring her seems to be the way to go. But when her illness had her on the ground and her son came for help, all bets were off. Now these two have a push pull and banter going that is sure to lead to something. The question is can they deal with the emotions? DJ Krimmer writes with a flare. Pairing up these two is genius. She deals with relevant issues and gives the characters the means and compassion to help each other. Ash is quite the man, and when push comes to shove, he is right there for his woman in all capacities. Sunday has her own things to deal with, but her son comes first, and what a man he is turning into. Glimpses of the others we have met at Hel's Ink come in and are supportive and loving. Plus I love to see where they are now, and it makes the series feel like coming home. Loved this and look forward to hearing Derek's story!
Stella Bloom and Grayson Owens deliver a fantastic story as the narrators. Bloom is a perfect choice as Sunday. She is feisty and independent, and gives her a hint of vulnerability. I love the protective barrier she gives Sunday. Owens is Ash and he knows how to make him lovable. His lack of confidence comes through first, but that shield of protectiveness and love outshines it all. Together these two are fabulous.

Beautiful Story!
This is the third book in the Hel's Ink Series. I love this series! Ash and Sunday's story is beautifully written, entertaining, emotional, funny, and engaging. Ash is enigmatic, handsome, supportive, and protective. Sunday is beautiful, smart, feisty, strong, and determined. They are both interesting characters, and they are perfect together. I loved Sunday's son, Wade. He is a fantastic supporting character. I loved to see again the characters from the first books. This is a beautiful story. Stella Bloom and Grayson Owens did an outstanding job bringing these characters, and this story to life. They are perfect as Ash and Sunday. This is a great team author/narrators. I enjoyed it, and I highly recommend it. Looking forward to listening to Derek, the next book in the series.
