The author addresses how to identify avoidance and how these attributes operate in our lives as well as the implications of having the desire to change. The starting point is to become aware of the issues and to tear down the emotional walls which separate the persons from the reality. Moving from a place of shame and negative self-esteem into a positive mindset
allows the listener to move into acceptance and clears up reactionary thinking. The author wraps up with helping one to understand the rewards of a secure attachment lifestyle and how it contributes to happiness. Very well laid out in clear and concise manner that is easy to understand and implement.

The introduction of this audiobook really hit home with me - the author describes a woman who goes to work early to avoid other people, and although she feels uncomfortable interacting with people, she is secretly lonely and wonders why she can't find the relationships she secretly wants. I think we all struggle with the feeling of wanting more in our relationships, but not knowing how to achieve that. The author of this book is really good about explaining what is going on in this situation and helping you change that. He walks you through exercises that are really easy to follow and I found them to be truly helpful. If you struggle with avoidant attachment, or just want more from your relationships, I think you'll find this audiobook to be very useful.
