About this listen

In a Post-Apocalyptic world of Magic and Machinery, Jack Knight is an orphan who finds himself caught between a life-altering decision.

Join the military and fight the demon hordes or sell his soul to the Corpos. Both options having minimal appeal to a shut-in like Jack. Thanks to the high cost of living, and his sister’s medical expenses, Jack has never given much thought to what he’d want to do with life, always living paycheck to paycheck, scrounging just enough to keep the lights on and his sister safe. However, in a strange turn of events that nearly kills him, an Angel presents him with a third option.

Awaken and become her instrument of revenge with the ultimate power.

I knew of this story and decided to give it a listen. I think the narrators did a fantastic job of bringing this to life. The author does a great job of bringing you along with the characters to make you feel a part of the story. A good beginning followed with the background and required information to lead you a decent ending of this chapter.
The only thing is now we have to wait for the next book. 😊
Well done!

A New Beginning

So got this as I tend to get most litrpgs not expecting a lot and tbh the only complaint I have is it’s not long enough I desperately want book 2 now. So a lot of looking at the comings soon page hopefully I’ll see it soon thank you for a good book.

Amazing

pretty good performance from the narrators, but the protagonist is an annoying brat that stumbles from panic attack to panic attack.

mixed.

The premise of the book is good and the world was turning out to be interesting. The problem is the MC, every reaction is an overreaction, uses the same tactics for every encounter and ignores all advice and then complains things didn't go quite so well. Maybe its because the MC is a teen and is pretty naive but just didn't connect with the character but finished the book.

Interesting story let down by an annoying MC

This is yet another story where "Stuff Happens" to the main character, instead of the protagonist's goals and decisions driving the narrative. The litrpg system is average, but at least explains how and why the MC is stronger than his peers.

I would not recommend this series to haremlit readers, as there is zero harem in this, and probably the next two books.

Most 16 year olds aren't actually this bad
