About this listen
How different would her life be if Wendy had never been charmed away from her family home by Sheldon Drake? Blinded by his wealth and everything it offered, she overlooked that he was a ruthless criminal.
Wendy didn’t understand the price of the extravagant lifestyle she yearned for with the man who seemed to have it all until it was too late. Now, she’s hiding in fear and plotting to commit murder. Can she trust federal agents to help her find an answer without breaking the law, or is she destined to kill again? Her life has become a spiral of lies woven by everyone around her. Nothing is as it appears, and she wonders if she can trust anyone… including herself.

Intriguing Story.
Another intriguing story from the pen of Dennis Shock. This stand alone novel is fast paced and edge of the seat listening as government agencies try to take down a master criminal whilst his wife try's to put as much distance between herself and him as possible until it becomes obvious that she needs to do something about the situation herself before he catches up with her. Great characters and a top storyline make this addictive listening. Jeff Moons narration as always is excellent. Highly Recommended.

Among the lies is a good book
I really enjoyed this book. With all the cozy mysteries I seem to be listening to lately it was nice to sit down and listen to how the professionals do it, at least to a sort of procedural story. I only say sort of because the story follows a number of characters, from the FBI trying to take down the criminals by building a case against them to the wife who is trying to escape it all. There is a lot going on and with a number of them not what they seem, it certainly stays entertaining and keeps you guessing as to who you should trust. The case and characters were engaging and has you hoping everybody makes it to the end. A story that once I started I didn't want to be interrupted during, which is all down to the talented author who knows how to build up a good story. I can't wait for the next book.
When Wendy's husband finds her and causes chaos in her new life, she knows she will never be free from him unless she does something about it herself. But how do you take down a man who surrounds himself with bodyguards, has more guys to provide muscle than suits and the FBI can't touch? You turn to an old friend and hope you get lucky. At the same time an FBI task force are trying to take her husband down too, the only way they can get anything to stick against him is if Wendy helps. Can the two sides work together to take down a common enemy? Or is Someone in the team working for the other side?
I did like the narrator but found all his woman characters sounded very similar.
