About this listen
What’s a loyal son worth? Jasha Kozlov is apparently worth two hundred thousand dollars, both to his father, who is deeply in debt to ruthless businessman Kaleb Bronson and to Bronson himself.
When Valentin Kozlov can’t come up with the cash to pay his debt to real estate magnate Kaleb Bronson, Kaleb offers to accept Jasha in lieu of the cash. Jasha is stunned but agrees to the deal in order to save his father’s life.
All isn’t as it seems, however. It’s the Christmas season, a season when wishes come true. What Kaleb really wants is a boy to love and care for, and he thinks Jasha could be the boy he’s been longing for. Now, amid the magic of Christmas at Lake Tahoe, Jasha must decide if Kaleb is the Daddy he’s been dreaming of.

A complicated relationship
Jasha is a story where the title character has some really complicated situations and emotions to work through. You might think what could be better than getting to spend the days before Christmas with a man you've been attracted to for some time in beautiful, snowy Lake Tahoe. Sounds perfectly idyllic. You have feelings for him, he definitely has strong feelings for you. His friends and the people who work for him are lovely. They like you, you like them. There's great food, ice skating, snowmobiling, trips to magical Christmas locations - a fairy tale come true. Oh yeah, the big snag. You're with the man of your dreams because your father "gave" you to him to cover a massive debt he couldn't pay, you've gone along with it to save your father's life when he has a literal gun to his head and this is all tied in with Russian businessmen who are known for being ruthless. Jasha and Kaleb have to do some serious talking about guilt, forgiveness and what adult children owe their parents to work things out and get their HEA. James Talbot does another superb job with one of Brina Brady's books. He lets us feel the strong attraction Jasha and Kaleb have for each other while still capturing the underlying darkness that colors their relationship from the beginning until some major issues are settled.
