Then, without warning, Cedric Hardcastle, a bluff Yorkshireman who no one has come across before, takes his place on the board of Barringtons. His accent makes the book so much more interesting.

What made the experience of listening to Be Careful What You Wish For the most enjoyable?

I am really unhappy about the cliff hanging endings !! It almost feels like the author doesn't trust the listener to purchase the next book !! After 4 books the endings have become a turnoff !! Good stories encourage further purchases without this kind of blackmail !! Pity because I enjoyed the stories.

Time to trust the listeners !!!!

I’ve listened to the previous books in the chronology and although the first was gripping felt the others were running out of steam. However this book has redeemed the series in being well written, joined up and pacy. Narrator Alex Jennings is spot on with the characterisations and accents. He really brings the characters to life. All in all I really enjoyed it apart from the predictable cliff hanger at the end.

The Clifton Chronicles certainly keep you listening, and the narration is mostly good, but the various accents, from Argentinian to Scottish to Northern Irish are dreadful and distracting.
