Brilliant science fiction

Unfortunately the writing doesn't always live up to the quality of the rest. This is mainly noticeable in the third story, where Blake's use of rhetorical questions to make a point or finish a paragraph made for a rather stilted and unconvincing narrative, which didn't suit the character at all. Yes, Blake is reflecting on past events, but nevertheless the style could have been varied to maintain the interest ofthe listener.
Why so many rhetorical questions, Blake?
