Good story
I picked this box set up in the sale, I did enjoy the story, the first few books more than the last ones as they became a bit of a drag.
the main character uses the same 2 spells over and over which got a bit boring, every fight she gets caught and is near to death which kinda takes away from the powerful witch she's supposed to be, her magic feeds on her panic and fear so I guess that's why but it just didn't gel well imo.
I'd say they are worth a go while on sale, I think I'd be annoyed if I paid full price tho

absolutely loved the book
brilliant story, I loved that this was set in Johannesburg South Africa... hearing the language used in JHB was an amazing change to hearing America terms used.

great story
the story is great although I get the feeling that the narrator is speaking too quickly at some parts that make the story semm rushed.

Tedious
I started out enjoying the first book, but as the series progressed I became more and more irritated by the main female and her actions. She was a self-absorbed one dimensional character who threw the same “spells” over and over whilst the story became more and more far fetched. And her so-called love interest was a joke! It was never clear why any of those who helped her would want to. By the end I just wanted it over with. I felt invested too much not to listen to the end, but was very glad when it was finally over and certainly won’t be listening to these books, or anything else by these authors, again.
