Summary
It's time to settle an ancient score. My human father has returned from the grave. He tried to kill me after I became a vampire. He intends to finish the job. But that's the least of my problems.
Someone else brought him back. Who would do something like that? All I know is that whoever it is wants me dead. I intend to spoil his plans.
Bloody Retribution is the third book in The Fury of a Vampire Witch. You've met Mercy before in The Legacy of a Vampire Witch and The Blood Witch Saga. She's fought against devils and demons, insidious witches, and old-world vampires. When she returns to Exeter, where she grew up as a girl, she'll find enemies even bigger and badder than anything she's ever faced before.
A great series for fans of the True Blood/Sookie Stackhouse novels or the Underworld franchise to sink their fangs into. The Fury of a Vampire Witch features a dark and twisty romance, action that could even get a vampire's heart pumping, and a snarky badass heroine.

Amazing
Excellent book 3. Consequences have past implications as well as future ones. A sword with a major difference and the Seelie and Unseelie Fae Courts use Earth as their battleground, with a wily fox escaping the underground team on more than one occasion. Lots going on but its still the big pull of this universe. The author has a great way of linking his books and characters. Its a pleasure to be involved in this universe. Highly recommend.

more intrigues and action for our Mercy
Third book in The Fury of a Vampire Witch, Bloody Retribution ups the ante from the previous books…. More mayhem, more enemies to defeat, more challenges… if there was a dad of the year championship in books, Mercy’s dad would definitely win the prize! Daddy is back from the dead, and between twists and turns, magic, Fae wars, actions, even a dragon, you can never know who to trust! It’s showtime – as usual, with Mercy and her merry band of misfits – and the narrator did an amazing job to represent this fun read. I really enjoy the series, so on with Bloody Bastards…

Resolving Daddy issues...the vampire way
I loved this continuation of the Vampire Witch series. Mercy's father is back, and they are due for a showdown 100 years in the making, but that's not the only thing on Mercy's plate. She and the others are caught in the middle of a Fae power struggle, then there is Reynard, the wily fox who seems to be at the center of everything. Every time they think they have his neck in the noose, he slips away. It's maddening. Hardest of all is trying to determine who is friend, who is foe, and who can be trusted. The Fae can't lie, but that doesn't mean they tell the whole truth, and they can certainly still manipulate. This is a fun listen, with a few trips down the rabbit hole, time & space travel, betrayal, danger, destruction...a day in the life of a vampire witch. The team is so much fun, even in the serious moments. I loved it when the team got together to go over where there were and what had gone wrong on the latest capture attempt of Reynard, and I laughed at the way they blamed each other (or defended themselves), just like human work groups do. I must admit, the travels back and forth in time did twist me up a little, but you just have to listen carefully, and maybe more than once, for it to be clear. (Or maybe that was just me.) Regardless, this was another fantastic book, and I am eager to see what's next for the crew.
The narrator did a great job giving the characters distinct voices and showcasing the humor. She does such a great job personifying Mercy and her snark.

An appearance from Daddy and a dip to the past
I loved getting to know mercy’s father and how his beliefs impacted on her. Sometimes what people think of us isn’t the truth but just their perception. You can even change these perceptions when really getting to know the person. This books had new allies and enemies and several travels of time. I found I had to really listen or I would miss something. There is so much going on and with the movement of time I was really made to think. Kelly Hazen’s voices as always make it enjoyable. You definitely are left wanting to read the next book in this series
