The Blue sisters have always been exceptional – and exceptionally different.
Avery, a strait-laced lawyer living in London, is the typical eldest daughter, though she’s hiding a secret that could undo her perfect life forever.
Bonnie was a boxer but, following a devastating defeat, she's been working as a bouncer in LA – until a reckless act one night threatens to drive her out of the city.
And Lucky, the rebellious youngest, is a model in Paris whose hard-partying ways are finally catching up with her.
Then there was Nicky, the beloved fourth sister, whose unexpected death left Avery, Bonnie and Lucky reeling.
When, a year later, the three of them must reunite in New York to stop the sale of their childhood home, they find that it's only by returning to each other that they can navigate their grief, addiction and heartbreak and learn to fall in love with life again.

Critic reviews
'The story of Avery, Bonnie, Nicky and Lucky is a healing balm to lost souls. Blue Sisters will unearth tenderness and heartache from spectacular depths within you, giving new dimensions to the word blue.' Xochitl Gonzalez, author of Olga Dies Dreaming
'I never imagined a novel about grief could leave me feeling so warm. Coco Mellors has crafted a richly textured tale of love, loss, and addiction in all its complexities. When I made it to the final page, I had tears in my eyes. I will be thinking about the Blue sisters for a long time.' Isabel Kaplan author of NSFW

Beautiful Story Telling
I love her writing style. Her portrayal of complex family dynamics is just as beutifully done as her portrayal of complex romantic relationship dynamics in Frank and Cleo, a great follow up!

Fantastic
Came into this book with very high expectations after she had an amazing debut and this book did not disappoint. The characters are well fleshed out with great individual stories. She writes the absentee sister so well she has such a big presence without having her voice. The below the belt sibling fights are completely on the nose, and the complexities of sibling relationships is front and centre of this book. This book is a lot from the prologue to the end. There is also a massive tender is the night spoiler in this book. ENJOY

Fantastic characterisation
A great listen, loved the chapters being broken into each sister. The characters were all well done - and I couldn’t stop listening.

Compelling but full of cliches
I can see the appeal of Blue Sisters and I couldn’t stop listening… it’s a good yarn. However, I did find myself seized by full body cringes frequently throughout, thanks to the author’s pathological employment of cliche and an insistence that all the characters are very special and extraordinary in very glamorous and damaged ways. A huge commitment to creating “not like other girls” characters came off as contrived and cheesy with each character lacking in subtlety.
Everything and everyone is extreme and dramatic. Everyone is exceptionally talented in some niche way or another - usually on a global scale. There are world champion girl boxers, cover girls, geniuses at every turn. Everyone is the best. And if they’re not the best then they are the absolute worst. But in an alluring way, of course. All of this extraordinariness - paired with dialogue that reads at times as if Bruce Springsteen lyrics mated with the contents of a precocious 14 year old boarding school girl’s diary - undermined the major themes of addiction, connection and motherhood.
