About this listen
High in the hills of Scotland, an ancient evil has returned. One young woman struggling to master her magic is the only hope to stop it....
On the cusp of womanhood, Georjie longs to unlock the full force of her fae-given powers. So when she’s invited to Scotland, she’s eager to explore the Highlands’ famed fairy realm hoping to find a mentor. But instead of unearthing a teacher, she discovers a mummified body within the walls of a 17th-century ruin.
Teaming up with a handsome amateur historian, she uses her earth-elemental gift to overturn the secrets hidden deep in the soil. But never far from the trail of clues lurks a shadowy creature on the hunt for prey. And Georjie fears it may have found its first target when a local girl vanishes, only to be discovered in an open grave with her life slipping away...
Can Georjie break the curse before ancient evil claims an innocent victim?
Bones of the Witch is the first book in the explosive Earth Magic Rises YA contemporary fantasy series. If you like strong heroines, dark sorcery, and medieval Highland history, then you’ll love A.L. Knorr’s unforgettable adventure.

Amazing!!
This book is truly incredible and the entire series of this story in general. If you are thinking of buying the series then maybe consider buying ‘born of earth’ first. It isn’t technically part of the series, but it is the story of what happens before this book and everything that happens with her powers and stuff. Sorry if that’s a spoiler btw!! But yes this series is incredible and I love it!! Plus the narrator makes every character unique and easy to tell from each other. This book series in general is just amazing!! Sorry for ranting but you get my point...

Intriguing, Magical Mystery
I greatly enjoyed Bones of the Witch. It has a great plot and moves at a good pace. I really loved exploring more of Georjie’s capabilities with her and meeting her new friends. There is a great deal of mystery surrounding her journey to Scotland and the castle she boards at.
This part of her adventure ends with an intriguing cliffhanger. It left me excited to discover what secrets will be revealed next and find out if any of my questions will be answered.

Fantastic reading!
Marin has done a fantastic job of reading this; I’m very impressed with her ranges of accents (and there are a few in this book!) and it is read beautifully. As for the story I have been really looking forward to hearing this one, as I love the book, and I know that the next two in the trilogy are also fantastic so keep an eye open for them! Full of twists and turns, I think this is the first of Abby’s books that genuinely creeps me out in places, fantastically written and keeps you guessing right to the end… definitely worth a listen, and why not treat yourself to the book as well so you can read along… very much looking forward to the next two instalments of the audiobooks.

Another amazing listen
This is the first book in Georjie's story and it starts off with Georjie travelling to Scotland to visit Jasher, her adopted cousin. However, when she arrives, he knows nothing of her visit!
The story is very well written and there are lots of questions to be answered - why did the brambles come back bigger than ever when Georjie tried to remove them, who and why is there a dead body buried in the walls of the old building, what is the smoke-like creature, why do the roses at the castle bloom all year round.
Narration by Marni Penning was superb as always.
If this is your first book by AL Knorr, I recommend you read/listen to the Elementals stories first as they will give you the background on Georjie's powers, plus they will draw you into the wonderful world of AL Knorr's amazing imagination.
