The story

How refreshing to hear a different type of voice in the Warhammer series. Adds a very interesting layer of exoticism that fits the White Scars, and I really like it! Jonathan Keeble is a great narrator, but his characterisations in the original version definitely did not age well into 2023. Well done to Black Library for updating it! This version definitely works better in this current social/political climate. It must be daunting to replace a legend such as Jonathan Keeble, but I thought the new narrator did a very commendable job and he has such a surprisingly soothing resonance to his voice. Looking forward to hearing more!

Refreshing new take

It is basically three short stories in one, they were all just fine, but I can’t say I liked them a lot. Each one of them did offer some interesting insights into the white scars though, so that was a highlight of the book, especially the white scars’ opinions on orks and the way their psychers go through the trial. Overall I’d say it was just alright.
