About this listen

People everywhere are burning out.

From CEOs to nurses, to doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs, journalists, social workers, academics, creatives...even yoga teachers are at it.

Technology was supposed to make life easier, free us up, take things off our plates, and instead, we are feeling more exhausted, more under pressure and more stressed out than ever before. People all over the world are lying awake at night wired from exhaustion and uncertainty, fearful of the looming to-do list that awaits them in the morning and wondering how the hell they are going to keep this up before they lose the plot altogether.

Life doesn't have to be this way.

This book is a no-nonsense, practical guide to thriving in a fast-paced modern world, for the burnt out, bone tired and brain frazzled. It's a toolkit that will help you learn what ingredients you need in order to thrive and how to weave those ingredients into your day-to-day, no matter how busy life gets.

Whether you are a classic overachiever, over giver or over thinker, be prepared to take back your boundaries, replenish your energy and design a life you love.

Lots of useful, actionable advice. When you’re burnt out and exhausted, the last thing you want to do is spend lots of chapters going through the theory before you even get into anything practical, so this was perfect. And I love the way Selina delivers it, in a calm, kind and supportive way, that feels like listening to a friend.

I enjoyed Selina's narrating style and the book offered some good insight on self-reflection. While I do appreciate the comprehensive approach on mental and physical well-being, I felt the book could have dug deeper into the roots of burnout. In its format the book seems more focused on creating a support structure to prevent burnout (very useful) rather than helping the reader to understand what caused their burnout in the first place and how to avoid the same pitfalls once recovered. Not easy to cover all in a single text, so still a worthwhile read alongside other research.

Great performance and good insight

As a grown up woman in my early fifties, working, having a family and studying, I am always looking for ways to reduce any feeling of burn out. I purchased this book as it was on a reduced deal, but unfortunately, it was very irritating and offers no value.
Unless you are 19 years old, and by that i mean, very very young, just starting at life, you have no experience of what burn out is, feels like and no knowledge of the common suggestions of "have a bath, breath, sleep, relax, connect with nature, eat healthy, drink more water"... you won't hear anything new.
Basically, the above mentioned is all there is, made into a book.

OK if you are 19 years old
