Dr Iannis practices medicine on the island of Cephalonia, accompanied by his daughter, Pelagia, to whom he imparts much of his healing art. Having actually read this book some years ago, it took me a few chapters to realise that half the book was missing.
Abridged versions of books usually cut parts out but you still understand the story.
Not in this case, there was so much missing that it made no sense at all.
