Riva and her men may once again be under the control of a new set of guardians but this time it seems their lives may be a little better than they have known before, can they trust their new keepers? But then they learn something which makes them realise that they can't stay and must escape again. This time it will be more difficult because they are on an island and there are now other younger shadow bloods in the mix and they plan to take as many of them as they can with them.
We also learn why Griffin betrayed them and why when they first meet again he seems so different. The storyline continued to hold my attention, and I loved seeing Riva and the guys learn more control of their powers and grow closer and how, when the chance came to escape, this time with Griffen in tow they took it. But after almost succeeding they find themselves betrayed again!
The narration of this book by Amber Lee Connors and Adam Gold is, as always excellent.

OK, back to the book. I was totally engrossed in the world! It's very weird going from having the guys around together all the time to just getting one or two in this scene or that scene. I missed them, so I can only imagine our heroine feelings. But that does not mean they missed their chance for some steamy time. And that aspect of their relationship grows as they try and include Z in the more physical part. Boy, they did a great job, a hot steamy moment I'm gonna remember.
Oh, and Giffin, so sorry but also happy. sorry for what they did to him and how it was used to harm the dynamic of the six. I'm happy he is alive and making them six. he also gets some steamy bits.
it's a great book, showing how Reeves continues to grow in her power and acceptance of her monstrous power. They all grow in power, and we see it in all of them. We also meet the next generation of shadowblood kids, some interesting powers, and more family for the six to get to know.
We have a new head bad guy, but there are indicators he's not the head, and there are more out there that could be worse.
Shadowkind, none in this book. I'm left wondering what happened to them, Rolick? is he OK? What happened?
in the end, like their journey, the book is a jumble of questions and exploration, and all you can do is hang on for the ride as they try to find a good way through it all. What a fun ride it was me ❤️

Griffin's story is trauma-inducing, and having him around brings fruiteous moments. Z. faces his trauma with the help of the other guys. Chance gets his just deserves. But Captured Fate leaves us gasping and running for book 4. Heartless Foe, which just reads ominous.
A big recommendation to any monster read lover or any whom wishes to read monster love..
Narrators did a fantastic job bringing the characters alive, and telling a story is a riveting and addictive manner. Intensity and trauma were felt and experienced

I am absolutely loving this series! I can't help but binge the audiobook in one sitting. I am really enjoying the relationship between Riva, Jacob, Zian, Andreas, Griffin and Dominic. It is extremely messy and complicated, but I can't help but root for them. I can't wait to see how it will continue to progress over the course of the series. I really enjoyed getting all of their points of views throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.
The book ended on another amazing cliffhanger that left me begging for more. I can't wait to jump into the next book in the series Heartless Foe.
Amber and Adam did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would recommend this series if you're looking for an urban fantasy romances, why choose romances, or romantic suspense.
