Den 13 juni 1952 försvinner ett svenskt flygplan under en flygning över Östersjön, tillsammans med åtta besättningsmän. Tre dagar senare skjuts ett Catalinaplan som deltar i spaningarna ner av ryska MiG-plan. Besättningen räddades och en utredning tog plats, men vad som hände med det första försvunna planet förblev höljt i dunkel. Vad var det som egentligen hände? Historikern Kenth Olsson har under flera år forskat kring ärendet och slutligen skrivit ner och förklarat de händelser som utgjorde ett mysterium under 1950-talet.
