About this listen
Jaelle dons a Roman helmet left among her ex's things and is transferred to the Pictish Celt side of Hadrian's wall - flat on the ground and tripped over by Breth. The naked woad-painted warrior is being chased by Romans who caught him scouting their fort. She earns his trust by grabbing an injured Roman's sword, fighting beside Breth, and saving his life. He takes her to his clan, where she sees druids in their sacred grove imparting magical protection by painting the warriors' nudity with muscle-activated woad pictures.

Time travel romance to first century AD
‘Celtic Druids: Dunskey Castle 4-6 (Druids Bidding Book 3)’ is a box set comprising ‘Time of the Celts’, ‘Time of the Picts’ and ‘Time of the Druids’. This time, the time travel is facilitated by a Roman helmet artefact inside which druid runes have been inscribed to imbue it with magic travelling properties so that it acts like a port key to one single location on the Pictish Celt side of Hadrian’s wall in the time of Roman occupation and back again to the present. Jaelle unwittingly don’s the helmet and is transported back in time where she meets warrior, Breth. The first two books in this box set centre on these two characters, their efforts to protect the clan and the development of their romance. The third book revolves around Talorac, Breth’s younger brother, and Diedre who we previously met as a child in ‘Druid Magic: Dunskey Castle 1-3 (Druids Bidding Book 2)’. Dierdre is on her first time-travelling mission, sent by the druid Alasdair and accompanied by the ancient druid Galdus whose spirit inhabits a rune-scarred dagger. Having thought for years that Galdus was her friend, she now finds out that is not the case; Galdus is a thoroughly nasty piece of work and has taken control of her mind and actions.
This box set has romance, action, adventure, plots and schemes and time-travel. I found the storylines less enjoyable than the previous ones, but still interesting. The big redeeming feature is Andrew McDermott’s narration as it is always such a pleasure to listen to him (the narration gets 5 stars from me).
