Summary

The horse Susan Richards chose for rescue wouldn't be corralled into her waiting trailer. Instead, Lay Me Down, a former racehorse with a foal close on her heels, walked right up that ramp and into Susan's life. This gentle creature, malnourished, plagued by pneumonia and an eye infection, had endured a rough road, but somehow her heart was still open and generous. It seemed fated that she would come into Susan's paddock and teach her how to embrace the joys of life despite the dangers of living.

Just gorgeous

If you’ve ever loved an animal and been loved back, this beautiful book will reach into your heart and remind you of that palpable love, you’ll feel so lucky you had that connection, you’ll remember the depth of the devotion you shared and even if you’ve been through the heartbreak of losing your pet, you’ll be reminded how worth it, it was. Remembering my darling Labrador Inca right now.

Loved it!

If you could sum up Chosen by a Horse in three words, what would they be?

Three words wouldn't be enough. It was a beautiful tale of a women finding a horse and herself over a number of years. It was an honest and beautifully revealing journey that didn't dwell on the trials and tribulations, but chose to see the majesty and opportunity for progression.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

What made the book for me was the authors honest appraisal of her tough journey and the human capacity to learn and move forward. Also, the story was engaging throughout.

Any additional comments?

The best narration I've heard. The intonations were heartfelt and carried you through all the emotions of the story

Beautiful story with fitting narration

Beautiful story of healing from trauma, down to earth and touching story. The narrator's voice was very fitting, I thought.
