About this listen

Don't miss the sparkling, romantic Christmas novel from the bestselling author of THE WINTER COTTAGE

Harry Robertson is determined to make the Applemore Hotel a success. As the busy season ends, the builders are ready to get to work. He's closing the doors on the final guests of the year when a chance encounter changes everything.

Capricious media star Ivy Winter causes a stir when she arrives in the tiny Highland village with her fiance Ben.

Harry's delighted to hear she wants nothing more than to marry in the hotel her parents loved... there's just one tiny problem. Ivy's got her heart set on a Christmas wedding - and what Ivy wants, she gets.

Harry's best friend Polly Fraser reassures him they can make it work - between her farm shop stuffed with local produce, her sister Beth's flower farm to provide the wedding flowers, and artisan bakers to create the wedding cakes of their dreams.

The tight-knit community pull together, determined to make it a Christmas Applemore will never forget. But everything that can go wrong does, and the village is on tenterhooks. Can they pull it off?

As snow begins to fall over the Highlands, romance is in the air. Will this Christmas wedding be the one to bring Harry and Polly together at last?

Nice and easy listen

I’m a bit of a fan of Applemore, so this was a nice book to listen to. Excellent reading really superb with all the different characters. I don’t think the storyline is a strong as the others, but I did really enjoy it and it was lovely to interact with Applemore characters again. I would definitely recommend this to other Apple more fans.

So much fun❣️

Loved everything! Lovely story and Helen Keeling’s narration was just brilliant! I don’t know how she can read in so many different voices and dialects…it was just a lot of fun and smiling all the way!!!

Lovely continuation to the series

Only thing wrong with this is that it's a little short but it's a worthy part of the series. Narrator does the accents well but I do think the whole thing should be narrated with the Scottish accent as that's where it's set & most of the characters are Scottish

Lovely, just lovely!

Part of a series of fabulous books about Applemore. Really enjoyed this gentle romp in the beautiful highlands. An easy listening story with great descriptions, fairly predictable, but that’s ok by me. The narrator is excellent for these books, gets the accents and timing just right. Off to listen to the next one now…. May the series never end!

Good book

Another sweet and enjoyable instalment in the Applemore series. Cast a great characters. Life in a small village in Scottish Highlands makes a compelling story. The narration was excellent and totally enhanced the experience of this book.

Narration inconsistent

I've listened to the three books in the series, but what's with the change from "Lachlan" to "Locklin"??
Almost stopped listening because of this obvious English pronunciation, whereas the first 2 books had the correct pronunciation.
Find this inconcistency puzzling and most annoying, and sorry but this spoiled the book for me.
The story is not bad, but the narration is very irritating...

Run out of steam from previous books in series

I’ve listened to the four Applemore books while recovering from an illness. They are shamelessly sentimental and implausible, but gentle and soothing set in a Disney style view of the Scottish highlands. The plots of the four books are pretty much identical - two impossibly attractive youngish people misunderstand their attraction for each other, with the background of family trauma, and working very hard (the phrase ‘so much to do’ is the most used in all the books) to build up a small business (with zillions of customers with disposable income even in the most remote part of Scotland and magic investment appearing at just the right moment.) By this last book, the formulaic plot had become lazy. Perhaps it would have been ok if I had not listened to the earlier books, but there’s a lot of reference back to earlier plots so it does not quite stand alone. . However, it wasn’t so bad that I could not listen to the end. Good delivery by the narrator.
