I loved the whole series, absolutely. Book 1 was a great introduction into the world of Raging Chaos a hot band made up of best friends. Their star is on the rise, but their loves are complicated. Camden is in love with Layla, and has been since high school. He leaves for LA to become a rock star, she moves to Boston with her fiancé. Five years later, things are different. Camden is a bonafide rock star. Layla has returned home to rebuild her life and career after finally leaving her disastrous marriage. The questions is whether they can get out of each other’s way to build their lives together.

Well-written and paced, This story is simply wonderful. Highly recommend this whole series.

From the moment that Camden saw his new neighbor Layla he knew that she was his everything even though they were only in high school. They became best friends and he waited patiently whether she had a boyfriend or was on a hiatus from men until he finally garnered the courage to tell her only to find out she was engaged.

Layla had no idea how Camden felt until her friend brings her to one of his band’s concerts and she hears a song that is about her. She is ending her marriage with her husband and is focused on creating a career and being a single mother to her son Felix so isn’t sure if she is ready to let another man into her life, but Camden is determined not to repeat the mistakes of the past.

These characters are everything as Camden is swoony and supportive while with everything that Layla is going through, we see how resilient and strong she truly is and her son Felix is too cute for words. Camden and Layla have always belonged together, and it is finally their time as they take us on an emotional and romantic story that you won’t be able to put down. Controlled Chaos by Nikki Ash is a single mom rockstar romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Marina Barrett and Walker Williams. This is the first book in the Love and Lyrics series.

I loved the relationship that bloomed between Camden and Layla. I really enjoyed getting both of their points of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

I can't wait for the next book in the series Silent Chaos to be released on September 29, 2022 so I can get Braxton and Kaylee's story.

Marina and Walker did an amazing job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.

I would recommend this book if you like single mom romances, rockstar romances, friends-to-lovers romance, or contemporary romances.

It was really good. Probably a 3 out of five for hot and sexy moments, And definitely should be stated that there are a few different times of trigger warnings needed, due to SA and Child abuse and DV.

I really enjoyed this book I loved the book about Camden's parents and this one is just as good, I love rockstar romance this one had a great story and characters , the narrators did a great job. I can't wait to listen to the rest of this series and more books by Nikki Ash this was my 3rd by her and I loved them all

Once again, Nikki Ash has captured my attention and stole my heart. Layla moves into town, unhappy and doesn't know anyone. Camden is her next door neighbor and the two become fast friends. Working with his band, the two are always together until Camden and the band leave to follow their dream. Now years later, the two cross paths again, Layla in a sham of a marriage with an adorable son, Camden the successful rockstar. And Camden has no intention of leaving her again. Will Layla realize just what she has been missing? Friends to lovers, this amazing romance is addictive. From A Chance Encounter, to meet Camden, Sophie & Easton's son, we are treated to a love with heart. But Ash also includes relevant issues and deals with the real issues compassionately. I cannot wait to hear book 2!

Marina Barrett and Walker Williams portray Layla and Camden and give us an emotional listen. Layla, from teen to adult deals with emotional issues and Barrett keeps the inflections flowing. We can hear just when she turns the corner in the story with her powerful performance. Walker Williams is new to me and what a voice! Perfect as Camden, he lets us into the rock world and his heart. Loved this performance with this team and look forward to more from each of them.

I loved everything about this book, from Nikki Ash’s wonderful writing style to the fabulous characters and storylines she created to the perfectly cast narrators who bring it all to life from the pages to your ears. This story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it the entire time. I adored both lead characters, Camden Blackwood and Layla Higgins, they became friends when Layla and her family moved next door and went to the same high school. He always felt more for her, but she had a boyfriend back in Michigan, one who would eventually break her heart. Camden was biding his time, but waited too long and missed his chance. Camden may come from a music family but he wants to make it on his own, he and his friends, Declan, Braxton and Gage formed a band, Raging Chaos, and first played for their friends and then moved on and are not the hottest bands out there. He never forgot Layla and found no one like her, while on a visit back home in NY it surprised him to see she moved back to town with her husband, David, and son, Felix. Her husband turns out to be a real dirtbag and when he crosses the line, she reached her limit and finally left him. She also learns that the song Camden wrote was about her and it was not only eye opening, but it woke something up in her. Camden has his second chance to make her his except she has a lot of baggage and issues to get over, but Camden will do whatever it takes to make her his. This brilliantly plotted story contains plenty of drama, heartfelt emotions, angst, some thrilling and suspenseful moments, and a romance that was meant to be. Nikki Ash, thank you for another amazing story and an emotional rollercoaster ride.

They have a complete understanding of the characters they are portraying, gave each a voice that fit that character’s persona perfectly, sounding believable in every role they played. They set the perfect tone for the story, capture all the characters’ emotions and project them into their performance, making you feel every single one. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to and their narration enhances an already fabulous story another level. Thank you for this great listen.

Layla knows that her marriage is not what it should be and that she is not happy. She sees Camden again after all these years and knows that her life will never be the same again. Layla never knew that the husband she was married to could treat her like he did. Now she is a single mom and must learn to live a life that she has always wanted. She is free to work and do the things she want and now Camden sees it as his chance and he will not remain silent like he did when they were younger.
