Summary

Read by Diane Morgan as Philomena Cunk, the star of Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe and Cunk on Britain.

Once in a blue moon, a book comes along that changes the world. The Origin of Species. War and Peace. 1984. The World According to Danny Dyer. And now, Cunk on Everything: The Encyclopedia Philomena, by Philomena Cunk.

Philomena Cunk is one of the greatest thinkers of the 21st century, and in Cunk on Everything she turns her attention to our biggest issue: why are there so many books?

Wouldn't it be better if there was just one? This is that book - an encyclopedia of ALL HUMAN KNOWLEDGE, from sausages to Henry of Eight to Brush Strokes to vegetarian sausages.

Listen to it, and you'll never have to read another book again.

Smile on my face

Listened to the whole of this in a day. Wandering about with a permanent smile on face with occasional giggle fits. Top class character comedy writing and Diane Morgan’s narration is brilliant.

Cunk is Brilliant

I made the mistake of putting this on at bedtime and was helplessly laughing well into the small hours. It’s utterly stupid in the very best way, genuinely funny.

Explains everything beautifullly.

A comedic perspective of the confused world we have created. What is the truth? Be very careful of what you believe. You are not your thoughts.

Everything you need to know you thought you knew

Not much to say really. Clearly a bestseller, even though it isn't. To compare the words in this book to Shakespeare would be blasphemous. But I will anyway, because he doesn't care, because he's dead.
It's the best thing since sliced bread. And probably the best thing since before sliced bread, but we don't know what happened before then, because that was the start of time.

This book is really good if you never finished school, or didn't go to school, or don't even know what a school is. All the education you need is in the pages of this book. Or if you're listening, the voice in your ears.

Philomena is an expert is several fields. Football fields, polo fields, tennis fields, rugby fields. The list goes on.

If you're still reading this review, why? Stop, download the book and listen to that instead. It's better and easier because your brain doesn't have to read.

What a delight! Absolutely wonderful.

Right: where to start. This audiobook took a long time to listen to, a very long time. I kept having to skip back thirty seconds or more in order to re-listen to what I missed the first time around because I was laughing so much. Sense of humour is very personal; I have sometimes searched for comedy shows on TV, read the reviews, decided this could be funny, only to be disappointed. However, for me, Philomena Cunk is a star. This is an audiobook I will definitely be listening to again. I have also began heartily recommend it to friends, family and to anyone else really who will listen. Well done Philomena and well done audible for producing this audiobook. Note to the author: Perhaps you could extend the repertoire, I mean, after all, you’ve said nothing about wheelbarrows or percolated coffee the list goes on and on, as does the laughter.

Arguably the greatest and most important book ever

This is a detailed encyclopedia of all the most important and oft misunderstood things and concepts in existence.

Cunk is a philosopher and scientist in all but title (and qualifications if you are being pinickety). Her wisdom makes you realise that things you always thought were complicated are actually pretty simple, and that much that you thought you knew in fact had more to it. In that sense, she is very much the internet of her day.

Absolutely Cunking Great

Its refreshing to finally hear the voice of the people tell it like it is.

Im not sure if she's a politician but i think she should be.

What a mind ! I've finally learned some proper science stuff and it has to be true because its on audible and they don't publish just any old rubbish.

...Was that ok Philomena did i put everything in like you said, don't forget you owe me a scotch egg and a half a cider top.... and i won't forget to delete the CC bits out of the emails when i copy and paste it .
