About this listen

When Sadie Wise strikes up a seemingly innocent conversation with a stranger on a train, the only thing on her mind is finding her husband, Eddie, and making him sign their divorce papers. She tells Mona that Eddie has been avoiding her for years, but now Sadie knows where he is she can finally be free from him.

In Sadie's mind it's a throwaway moment. In Mona's mind Sadie is asking Mona to do something very dangerous for her. That one chance encounter sets off a chain of events involving murder, deception and danger, and Sadie soon realises that Mona has taken their meeting very seriously. Because now Mona is everywhere, and she won't leave Sadie alone until she's fulfilled her side of their 'deal'....

gripping story

Following the writers books in order. This is another plot which has many twists and turns. Including characters from other books and the area of Kelstone, which gives you insight into who is who. Even though it starts out elsewhere in the country.

Not credible

I couldn't relate to this tale at all
Written like a cheap afternoon TV play
Just endless annoying dialogue

Far too tame

How can reviewers claim Roberta Kray is in the same league as Martina Cole there’s no bad language which I understand appeals to a lot of people but it just makes the story unrealistic I’m not sure if they even smoke lol. I so wanted to enjoy your books but they are seriously far too tame for this genre, most of the time it’s like listening to someone’s boring diary.

Good Idea for a Story, But Unbelievable Dialogue

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

A solid dialogue

What was most disappointing about Roberta Kray’s story?

When the characters spoke to each other, it was stilted and awkward, almost like a teenager had written it..I kept thinking "people just dont talk like that!"

Which scene did you most enjoy?

I gave up after a couple of chapters

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Dangerous Promises?

I would keep the storyline, and give it to another author

Any additional comments?

Sadly, i left it to late to get a refund
