A young Polish girl fixated on fame. A killer with a deadly obsession.

As Mackinnon follows the trail of obsession and murder to the shady owners of the Star Academy, who thrive on society's obsession with reality TV shows, he realises the fame they offer comes at a price. Slow paced
Didn't really enjoy if I'm honest. Did not grab me or sustain my interest

Ok but…
Reasonable story if a bit tame compared to others on similar themes. Dialogue between the main characters maybe a bit too gentle for hardened cops. Narrator ok but maybe a bit lightweight. Altogether ok but for me could do with a bit more bite.

Plodding
Narrator did his best but story was very basic and poorly written. Felt like a newbie author who has not yet honed their craft, writing style was not slick or sophisticated. Too much over-explanation and repetition, and very stilted. Finished this one but won't be listening to any more by this author.

Sorry, not sorry
I had to give up before I lost the will to live ! There's a story in there somewhere, probably average/good. Sadly due to appalling narration I'll never know. Where was producer/director.? Had narrator walked in off the street and manuscript thrown at them. Apart from the innumerable he said, she said, he said, After a while I found I was mouthing "he said" whever narrator murdered a sentence. The killer for me was when it became very noticable narrator was adding full stop, comma, pause, where there was none. Omitting, full stop, comma, pause where there should. Again to utter distraction as all you were listening too and betting on was, here's another full stop. So much so that sentences became more a challenge than escapism. You knew when page was about to be turned, narrator stopped,...... turned page, read next word which was now totally alone and without meaning. So when reading sentence or end of paragraph it would become. Well, he said, that changes things Jack how come he said picking his. breaks off Turn page. Phone up ? Dont even start me on the lisp!!!! No not narrator a poor unfortunate character?

Good simple tale
Having had more than a few turkeys, I was almost giving up on the Plus catalogue.
I found this a good listen when doing other things. The plot is on the fictional side of fantasy and the characters were as expected.
The reader may have pronounced a couple of words not matching common expectations and pace may have been a bit staccato at times but got better as the book progressed.
I’d read the next in the series.

Good start to a new series
This is the first in a series, so lots of it involved introducing the characters etc, it’s fairly short ,but overall worth a listen, really liked the narrator

Enjpyable listen
This was an enjoyable listen and I did get used to the narrator and it worked well for me, I got very involved in the story working out how it was going to be resolved. Given this I am going to continue on with the series.
I listened to this via the audible plus catalogue
