About this listen
Half a century after the Doomsday Battle, the uneasy balance of Dark Forest Deterrence keeps the Trisolaran invaders at bay.
Earth enjoys unprecedented prosperity due to the infusion of Trisolaran knowledge, and, with human science advancing and the Trisolarans adopting Earth culture, it seems that the two civilizations can coexist peacefully as equals, without the terrible threat of mutually assured annihilation. But peace has made humanity complacent.
Cheng Xin, an aerospace engineer from the 21st century, awakens from hibernation in this new age. She brings knowledge of a long-forgotten program dating from the start of the Trisolar Crisis, and her presence may upset the delicate balance between two worlds. Will humanity reach for the stars or die in its cradle?

Excellent, excellent story!!
The whole series is so original, so different to any western sci-fi I'm just amazed. Highly recommended; the story, the reader, the ideas, the insight into Chinese thinking and culture.

Better than the previous two
Without doubt the best sci Fi series I've ever read, so weird, incredibly inventive, cosmically brutal.

A new Sci-Fi Bible
1. Every thing in this trilogy-book story is extrapolable to reality in the present with its conflicts and difficult decisions.
2. The author will keep you engaged to the story and constantly amazed with all the scientific bases that sustain the world/s in this multi- planetary / multi- universe / multi- temporary plot.
3. In my opinion, the author makes warning to "the west" about the importance of thinking in very long term policies/plans and, in his words, "the universe is no a fairy tale". Drastic decisions must be taken at the right time to avoid doom. Additionally, teaches you to never underestimate an adversary.
4. there are, definitely and evidently, references to many famous Sci-Fi books, TV series, movies and the Bible.
5. The narrator does a good job, I have the impression that he was chosen by the author. He is not that versatile and has this whistle sound with the "s". There is, what I would call, Chinese humour here and there,, but the narrator does not give you hints with his tone of voice. Probably better like this.
I already listened to the first two twice, this one is the longest and the best.

A monumental story
The trilogy has come to an end, and I am at a loss. What will I do with my spare time now? Cixin Liu is a mastermind, her endless creativity and theoretical knowledge has made a world so convincingly terrifying, yet awesome, I’m not sure I want to read any more sci-fi as I fear it won’t live up to this 😭

Superb, complex, mind blowing
I loved that these books span centuries and how involved we are invited to become in the story.

Wonderful story
There seems to be a problem with the recording speed. Listen at 1.25 speed and it’s fine
The story is wonderful

As wonderful as books 1 and 2
My second time completing this wonderful trilogy.
But the narrator is just not for me.
How this narrator wrecks the experience.
Misread words, pauses in the wrong place as if he is bored and has missed the meaning of the story.
Also, the third book name pronunciation of name differs from the first two books.
Just drags a great writer's work down.
Half way this (book 3) I stuck it on 1.5x speed so it was not the voice of a man about to sleep.

Excellent book
Really good book and would highly recommend the series. I found this book really hard to finish though and felt the story was very different from the first books original premise.

Scale
While perhaps not as Dark Forest, this conclusion is enormous in scale, stretching your mind in terms of physics and cosmology. It does feel like you need a Physics degree to understand some of it, but the explanations are almost enough to allow the basic concepts to be understood. A smaller character based is helpful and the central narrative.
