Der Winterplanet ist im ganzen Universum für seine vorzüglichen Winterprodukte bekannt: Winterhonig, Schneemänner und der kostbare Schlamatzfisch. Eben ist der kleine Floh mit der Jonas 4, dem Raumschiff seines Vaters, auf dem Winterplaneten gelandet, um eine Ladung Schlamatz zu übernehmen. Aber da geschehen plötzlich seltsame Dinge. Die Winterbienen haben den Winterwald verlassen, in den Hinteren Eisseen gibt es keinen Schlamatzfisch mehr und im Tal der Schneemeister hat es angefangen zu regnen. Es hat ganz den Anschein, als würde der Planet zu schmelzen beginnen.
