Get ready to fall in love with Nyx and Nate! Talk about a wonderful romance, this friends to lovers, slow burn romance is just the remedy for a rainy day and is sure to make your heart sing. Nyx and Nate met in the first book of the series, not the best of friends, but had a mutual respect and undeniable chemistry between them. Life takes Nyx off course a bit, and Nate is there to help her out, get her back on track with work, and put her life in perspective on a daily basis. The two grow close, but never act on the attraction. But why? There is a lot to the story, and Claudia Burgoa knows exactly how to keep me captivated, waiting and wanting! With some twists and turns we don't see coming, it makes the listen exciting and romantic! Plus there are so many cameos from past characters, that it was like coming home to good friends. This is a fabulous story and one that should not be missed.

To make it even better are our narrators. Aaron Shedlock, always a favorite of mine climbs into the head of Nate and delivers the swooniest, most authentic and loving man! I could not get enough. He broke my heart at times and put it back together just with his voice. Virginia Rose comes on as Nyx, super confident, until she's not, able to breakdown at a moment's notice and give a realistic feel of what it's like to be in Nyx's shoes. I loved these two together creating their magic. Add in Jason Clarke, Brooke Bloomingdale, Teddy Hamilton, Liam Sanderson and Connor Brown, reprising past roles and bringing that family feel in, this could not have been a better listen.

Nyx has always been the one in her family that others go to whenever they need assistance or advice. She is focused on her career as a lawyer and has plans for what she wants her future to look like and it didn’t include getting pregnant by a man she never wants to see again. She is floundering as she adjusts to her new normal but the last person she expected to be her support system was Nate, the brother of the man her sister is marrying.

Nate is a man who has been focused on his career as well and isn’t looking for love or a relationship. He has always been attracted to Nyx so when he finds out about the baby she is carrying he is determined to be there to support her through all the ups and downs whether she wants it or not.

Nate and Nyx have a lot of similarities both when it comes to their careers, their families and their views on relationships. They both believed they knew the direction they wanted their future to take until they found what they didn’t know they were looking for in each other. Although the story is told primarily by two narrators the narrators for the secondary characters added a new dimension to the experience.
