Take a time-out.

If your toddler starts throwing a tantrum or continuing to misbehave, you need to implement a time-out quickly. You need to give them their space and let them know that their behavior is not acceptable. You should set aside about one minute for each year of age. So, if you have a three-year-old, they'll need to sit in their time-out spot for three minutes.

Never leave your toddler alone in their room during the time-out period, as this will only frustrate them more and ruin the technique's purpose. Give them responsibility.

Giving your toddler responsibility can help them learn discipline. If you give them something they need to take care of, they will learn to appreciate it. This is great because they will not tend to destroy it when they don't get their way.
