Summary
Not too long ago, lethal infections were feared in the Western world. Since that time, many countries have undergone a transformation from disease cesspools to much safer, healthier habitats. Starting in the mid-1800s, there was a steady drop in deaths from all infectious diseases, decreasing to relatively minor levels by the early 1900s.
The history of that transformation involves famine, poverty, filth, lost cures, eugenicist doctrine, individual freedoms versus state might, protests and arrests over vaccine refusal, and much more.
Today, we are told that medical interventions increased our lifespan and single-handedly prevented masses of deaths. But is this really true?
Dissolving Illusions details facts and figures from long-overlooked medical journals, books, newspapers, and other sources. Using myth-shattering information, this book shows that vaccines, antibiotics, and other medical interventions are not responsible for the increase in lifespan and the decline in mortality from infectious diseases. If the medical profession could systematically misinterpret and ignore key historical information, the question must be asked, “What else is ignored and misinterpreted today?”

Essential reading for everyone
Everyone needs to read this book - especially doctors and parents! It really is astounding what the medical profession have been lead to believe and then push on parents. All thanks to the greed of the pharmaceutical industry!

Everything you wish was not true about vaccines.
A fascinating history of vaccines. Medicine is looking as much a quasi-science as psychology, economics and climate studies.

Amazing book!
I wish I had known about vaccinations and about this book prior to having my children. Nothing in the book came as a surprise as I've already been looking into most this myself but it felt extremely valuable to hear actual facts and findings backing the research and claims, which confirms decisions I have made so far. It was likewise very valuable to hear about the various natural remedies used throughout history, what they were (are) used for and the outcome of such use. Highly highly recommend this book. I will purchase the hardcover too!

Coomon sense, information and Illusion busting!
This book just confirms my own research and give a great insight into the dealing of doctors, pressures from 1700 and payment for servies in amodel that hasn't truly stopped and is reaching it's peak in coercin, lies and potencny to damage people. A must read.
