About this listen
Above Oakenfall, fireworks light the night sky celebrating one hundred years, since the end of the vicious war that lasted for generations. Against all odds, Oakenfall had managed to free themselves from their dragon overlords. However, with the dragons gone, a band of barbarians unite in the north and seize control of Oakenfall’s sister city, Northholm. As the invading army marches south, the King is running out of options and turns to Darcy Dean, the son of a great war hero. But Darcy is more used to bookkeeping than holding a sword. Will he live up to be half the man his father was and step forward as the saviour of the city he calls home?
Within the castle of Oakenfall whispers fill the throne room. There is talk of consorting with demons, an ancient relic of untold power, and the return of the scaled beasts of old. Darcy has no clue of the hardships about to befall him and the fellowship he is forced to gather.

Read it on Kindle, now here for the audiobook!
Really enjoyed this fantasy adventure and looking forward to more! I have this book on Kindle and was excited to find out it was available on audible now too. Great story-teller narration and the different voices of the characters really brought them to life and added another dimension to the experience. Story kept me entertained throughout and would recommend for any fantasy lovers.

Great fantasy.
I throughly enjoyed this story. The author brings a wide range of characters to life with his vivid descriptions and easy to follow dialogue. The story is set in a deeply developed world, and has twists and action to keep the listener hooked. I can’t wait to hear how the story progresses in book two.

Enjoyable promising start
I came across this title after a recommendation on kindle. It's traditional story telling and none the worse for it! I like the world and the detail and keen to here and discover more.

An enjoyable story
I had the pleasure of working on a stall next to the author at London film and Comic Con in July 2022. I was impressed by the passion he had when talking about he books to his customers so I thought I would give the book a try. I enjoyed the story, dragons, elves, daemons that’s right up my street. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Didn't finish this title. I really struggled to care about any of the characters
