About this listen

Auras empowering the body to superhuman status. Invocations tearing the land asunder. The war has arrived.

The necromantic armies are on the warpath and nowhere is safe—even the sanctuary of the flying dungeon has been threatened. The leadership of nearly all the sentient races has been wiped out, and only the people most suited to repelling the advancing darkness have an intact monarchy.

Cal learns quickly that the primary threat is not the far-off war, but the actions of those entrusted with protecting the population. As it turns out, the idea of using a flying dungeon as a war machine is very tempting indeed.

Dale has been facing his trials better than anyone could have hoped for, but when the war takes a turn for the worse, his role is forcibly relinquished. Since his only chance at survival is painful and rapid advancement, Dale must learn if his strength of will can develop into strength of flesh.

The distance between the Heavens and the Earth might not be so far after all.

fall from grace

The ending was ill thought out. The world building had collapsed leading to the writer suffering from an ending that only further destroyed the story. The ultimate evil was surrounded by plot convenience and stilted character development.

Though the monster creation was still excellent, the main characters were enjoyable and there were elements in the story that could have been developed into something interesting. The main story fell apart to the point of it being frustrating. If another story is released to follow this, it will likely suffer more problems due to how the unresolved problems seem even more poorly written. The story suffered from illl thought out madness.

ow the puns and referances...

so there you are just enjoying yourself listening to your audio book, when suddenly you hear a word/sentence you recognise.
then you shoot into a smirk or laugh at the seemingly weird timing wich breaks the tension perfectly.

after i had finished the previous book i was itching to continue and i was not dissappointed.

so... of course i bought the next bookXD. i like this serie as much as the guild codex series. these both help me concentrate durring work:p.

im realy looking forward to the rest:3.

Wow

The epilogue got me. I'm still shivering and I almost saw it coming.

If you've enjoyed it so far, there is no reason you won't enjoy this. The story took a slight diversion away from dungeon building but it was clear that all of this was planned. So good.

Where's the final book?

Why? Why did it end there? I really, really want the next book now! 😁
As you can guess I loved it, excellent story line and the reading was good as always. I love the characters of Cal and Dale they complement each other perfectly.

I really enjoyed it

I have enjoyed all of the series and only one thing isn’t sitting right so no info that will spoil but at the end of the last book dale had the elves cultivation technique but didn’t have in the middle of this one a small detail and explainable by the squishy human brain but I’d would of implemented it almost immediately I think dale would too

4th time and still caught

(From my review of the first book)
I listened to this series as a whole pretty quickly. It captivated me and made me wonder how it'd continue. The alternating POV was also nice and felt natural throughout, with the writing distinct enough between the characters that you didn't doubt whose eyes you were looking through. Every choice the characters made, made me switch between liking them, being annoyed and even shocked, which I love.
The whole RPG system is also used in a way that makes it feel much more 'natural' compared to the free-floating-screen type of RPG that can feel very unnatural to some, so if that is what turns you away from LitRPGs then you can try this one out without worry.
I loved Vikas Adam as a narrator when I got used to it, since it was the first time I heard a narrator which made each voice much more unique than I had heard so far. At first, I was confused and thought that 2 people were narrating (which I am not the biggest fan of) but he just has amazing control of his voice.

I recommend giving it a go!
