About this listen
'A charmingly whimsical delight. . . Five dazzling, gladdening stars' India Holton, author of The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels
The third instalment in the enchanting light academia Emily Wilde books, about a curmudgeonly scholar of folklore and the fae prince she loves, from Sunday Times bestselling author Heather Fawcett.
Emily Wilde has spent her life studying faeries. A renowned dryadologist, she has documented hundreds of species of Folk in her Encyclopaedia of Faeries. Now she is about to embark on her most dangerous academic project yet: studying the inner workings of a faerie realm-as its queen.
Along with her former academic rival-now fiancé-the dashing and mercurial Wendell Bambleby, Emily is immediately thrust into the deadly intrigues of Faerie as the two of them seize the throne of Wendell's long-lost kingdom, which Emily finds a beautiful nightmare, filled with scholarly treasures.
Emily has been obsessed with faerie stories her entire life, but at first she feels as ill-suited to Faerie as she did to the mortal world-how could an unassuming scholar like herself pass for a queen? Yet there is little time to settle in-Wendell's murderous stepmother has placed a deadly curse upon the land before vanishing without a trace. It will take all of Wendell's magic-and Emily's knowledge of stories-to unravel the mystery before they lose everything they hold dear.

When’s the next one?!!
I loved listening to these books, Hearing Em’s and Wendell’s romance develop through their quirkiness, and their adventures, and learning about the fae, was such an easy, enjoyable and relaxing listen.
I’m hoping another book is on its way! 🤞

Great Third Book
I love the Emily Wilde stories. It is in a slightly parallel version of our Edwardian period where The Folk or Fae are known to exist and dryadology is a recognised field of study.
I enjoyed the way the stories and the characters have developed. Emily and Wendel are unusual protagonists; I love them.
This third volume did not disappoint. I waited so long for it and have devoured it in 2 days. Am so sad it has ended, Am going to listen to it again straight away.

A fitting ending
This was the perfect ending to this series. The audiobook was so well done to add to it . I love the characters and the relationships and though I am sad to say goodbye I am glad it was done the way it was.

Fantastic narration of a book that makes you smile
Excellently narrated, this is a feelgood book that keeps you turning the pages, as much in delight at the characters as the plot line.

Love this series
Fairies, magic, explanations. Perfection really. It rounds up the two previous books nicely.
If you have enjoyed the books before, you will love this one as well.

Enchanting magic in every page
I eagerly awaited this book and it was well worth the wait, I enjoyed every second. It delivered precisely what I have come to expect. The author's meticulous research into folklore shines through, offering rich detail that immerses you in a captivating world of faeries. The characters are both lovable and complex, brought to life through superb writing that makes the pages fly by. Once again, I found myself lost in this enchanting universe, the mesmerizing world of faeries. Loved it
