Robot narration.
This was a mission to get through. I've read the story before, and although it's not the most liked of her novels, I enjoyed it hugely. This, however, was absolutely horrid!
The narrator was stilted, monotone and boring. My mother genuinely thought it was a robotic software reading the story. I had to listen to it in small amounts. Shame.

wonderful book - OK reader
I love Emma it's an ace book. This recording is not the best it comes off as very amateur for the reader to repeat the same sentence 4 or 5 times to make sure its right and hear all the mistakes. It doesn't sound right and makes it more like a free online recording. Personally I found it so annoying it tainted the book l.

Great book but terrible reading
The person reading it does not seem to understand half of the subtleties of the writing. Delivery a monotone, and such emphasis as there is falls in unnatural places,. This is one of my favourite books and I have tried to listen to it several times but I can't make any headway. One if my early buys but I think I am going to return it as I don't think I will ever finish it.

poor story and highly annoying narration
maybe this story was good and had an interesting plot for it's day. most TV soap episodes nowadays are better than this (and I'm no fan). I'm aware this book is a classic, but just being old should not be enough to be highly regarded. in this case it seems that's just what happened.

lovely story ruined by narration
the narrator did a poor job with this classic. I had to turn off after less than 5 minutes. will look for a better option!

Absolutely awful intonation
I had to stop listening after 5 minutes. It was like the reader had been told to pronounce each sentence in the same way regardless of the what she was saying. Ruined one of my favourite books

poorly read.
this is a great story by and amazing author, unfortunately the narrators does not do it justice, monotone reading and repeating sentences in a reoccurring theme.
