Keisha Adair Swaby
About this listen
Arriving in the UK from Jamaica at the tender age of 14, Keisha shares her empowering lived experiences growing up with undiagnosed Dyslexia and Dyspraxia, while facing several intersectional challenges that include culture, race, and the UK education system.
Keisha shares her ordeal of being bullied in school for being different, which affected her self-esteem and confidence growing up.
Leaving school with no GCSE's, Keisha never gave up on fulfilling her dreams and goals. Being undiagnosed during her corporate career of 17 years also brought many challenges and frustrations.
Following her diagnosis at the age of 41, Keisha has embraced her uniqueness, and champions Dyslexia and Dyspraxia as her superpowers.
This book gives a great insight of Keisha's perseverance and determination to achieve her dreams and goals despite the challenges encountered as someone with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia!
As a mother of four children, Keisha is on a mission to create a better understanding in society, not just for her own children, but also for generations to come.
A book to empower, educate, and create more awareness of learning differences in order to reduce the stigma, shame and embarrassment that exists in our communities.
